Overview

Le Ching Tea House sits quietly at the corner of Banawe Street and Del Monte Avenue in Quezon City, a true testament to old-school Chinese comfort food. Walking into its dimly lit space feels like stepping back in time, with an ambiance that carries the warmth of decades past. The well-worn interiors may show signs of age, but this only adds to the charm that longtime patrons have come to cherish.

The restaurant specializes in traditional Chinese dishes with a focus on hearty noodle soups, congee, and rice toppings that soothe the soul. Signature offerings such as the Beef Wonton Noodle Soup and Beef Wonton Stewed Noodles deliver a deep, savory broth layered with tender beef and soft wontons. For those seeking more adventurous flavors, the Taosi Chicken Feet and Shark’s Fin Dumplings offer unique textures and authentic taste profiles rarely matched elsewhere in Metro Manila.

Le Ching’s congee selections, including the Halo Halo Congee and Meatball with Century Egg Congee, provide a comforting, slow-cooked meal ideal for quiet mornings or gentle evenings. The Spare Ribs Rice Toppings, with their tender, flavorful meat glazed in a rich sauce, remain a crowd favorite—comforting yet complex, a dish one easily dreams about after the meal ends.

The service complements the food beautifully. The staff, many of whom have been part of Le Ching for years, provide attentive and warm service that feels like visiting family. Their knowledge of the menu and readiness to recommend the perfect chili sauce for various dishes enhances the dining experience significantly.

While the restaurant could benefit from a thoughtful renovation to update its decor, the food quality and traditional recipes keep regulars coming back. It attracts a diverse crowd—families seeking nostalgic meals, food enthusiasts in search of classic Chinese flavors, and even travelers wanting a genuine taste of Quezon City’s culinary heritage.

In essence, Le Ching Tea House is more than just a place to eat. It’s a culinary landmark embodying decades of tradition and heartfelt flavors. For anyone craving authentic Chinese comfort food served with sincere hospitality, Le Ching remains an indispensable stop.

Food and service by the kuya's and ate's are out of this world. If your drooling for spearibs (taosi) dimsum style. Then this is the place to be. You wont regret and will surely be drooling for more. Dont forget to ask for thie chilli sauce for that perfect combo meal. Hope they will renovate this store soon, the food and staff and something to look forward to. Could give 10Stars for their food if review permits it.

Le Ching is a staple comfort food place for every Filchi family. You are magically transported to the 80s as you enter their dimly lit restaurant. The servers are probably in service as old as the establishment itself, seeing that most of them are of advanced age already. This shows probably how the owners treat their staff. The prices are now outrageous. I suppose this is better than compromising on the quality, but it really takes you back. ₱350 for the signature spareribs rice is nothing to scoff at after all. I ordered the aformentioned spareribs rice. Damn, even at ₱350, I still think its worth every peso. These are the rare moments where you know the place is pricey now but still don’t mind paying premium because you know they deserve it. We also ordered a chicken mami, split into two. Yup, same deal. I would still gladly pay ₱350 for it. The price stings now that you aren’t able to visit this place as often as back then, but when the cravings come, you’d still come here. Had a fantastic meal nevertheless. Still very much highly recommended.

Whenever there's a chance or a parking space available, we never fail to eat at Le Ching, Banawe. We were still dating 27yrs ago when I first tried it here and I liked their beef brisket rice and dimsum. And they still taste the same now. Although the place is in need of renovation and maintainance- a minor facelift to attract new customers.

I dream of the chicken feet! Nothing has come close since I had these. First time to Manila last year and look forward to coming back here again this year.

Always love the food here. Spareribs rice, beef brisket rice, cheongfan are a few of my favorites. Friendlier wait staff. Updated: 1.28.2015 Ordered my fave spare ribs rice, still very good as usual. Rice toppings and various noodle soup though are now worth 320 pesos, at least a 15% increase from 9 months ago.

I have eaten in Le Ching since I was a little kid, and this is a go-to Chinese restaurant for me and my family. The Beef Brisket Rice never fails and is always fresh, hot and delicious. Their Taosi Chicken Feet (tausi sauce) is also amazing and has the right amount of spice. The free soup tastes great as a side to your rice meal.
